I’ve been photographing this family for a while now, and I’ve loved watching them grow as much as I love photographing them. Last fall (when this shoot was taken) they had just had their summer baby; their third baby boy! He happened to be pretty sleepy during our shoot, but I suppose it makes for good stories to tell when he’s older. Bellevue Botanical gardens in the late afternoon was the perfect setting for the older brothers to run around and let off steam; all in some pretty amazing fall light to boot.
I can’t imagine what life would be like with more than two children, but these two amazing parents have taken it all in stride. I’m sure there are always moments where the noise becomes too much, the schedules too packed, the sleepless nights too many. But I know with certainty that these two know with finality that their family is now truly complete. And in this parenting game that is so filled with uncertainties, it’s nice to be certain about something for once!
